I'd like to share a poem I wrote. When I picked up my pen to write it, I didn't know what I would say. I wanted answers, I wanted my mind to stop running in circles...so I simply wrote, "Where is peace..."
Jeremiah 33:3 says, "Call to me and I will answer you..."
God always answers us, in some way.
The Deepest Darkest Places

Where is peace
in a world that takes it
and bottles it up to sell
like stale food without value
but then changes the labels
for the high-priced jars marked poison
and gives those to the world
while the peace is hidden away
in the darkness where they kept
the poison
in a world that takes it
and bottles it up to sell
like stale food without value
but then changes the labels
for the high-priced jars marked poison
and gives those to the world
while the peace is hidden away
in the darkness where they kept
the poison
it is the most expensive things
that have no value
and the world drinks it
the poison
that brings the storm clouds out
to drown the misled peace seekers
and dries the life from the sky
when the peace is away
the poison that got switched
for peace
and so we say we suffer and die
and nothing’s right
our peace is full of dark
not light
that have no value
and the world drinks it
the poison
that brings the storm clouds out
to drown the misled peace seekers
and dries the life from the sky
when the peace is away
the poison that got switched
for peace
and so we say we suffer and die
and nothing’s right
our peace is full of dark
not light
but we don’t know
that the remedy we seek
to be complete is not
the thing we lack
and that our light lovely peace
was switched for poison
and sits in middle of the dark where
we can’t see foot ahead
we’re still broken, blinded
with a heart that’s so far
only bled
that the remedy we seek
to be complete is not
the thing we lack
and that our light lovely peace
was switched for poison
and sits in middle of the dark where
we can’t see foot ahead
we’re still broken, blinded
with a heart that’s so far
only bled
but hearts are meant to bleed
the peace was disguised
not destroyed
and darkness can’t succeed
the world will keep on drinking
the poison
but look down and feel
your beating bleeding heart
that’s how it’s supposed to be
it’s the way it was made
the peace was disguised
not destroyed
and darkness can’t succeed
the world will keep on drinking
the poison
but look down and feel
your beating bleeding heart
that’s how it’s supposed to be
it’s the way it was made
wait for the peace
it’s waiting for you to wait
in the deepest darkest places
in the world that can’t restrain the light.
it’s waiting for you to wait
in the deepest darkest places
in the world that can’t restrain the light.
